There’s an ongoing battle for ownership of the mega-million dollar newspaper, Newsday. The company launched by Daniel Chookolingo in 1993, is getting no media publicity because two years after its launch, the daily immediately became the fastest selling newspaper in Trinidad and Tobago outstripping the then 30-year old Trinidad Express and the mighty Guardian which was then over 75 years old. Both newspaper and their vast billion dollar media outfits have remained silent since the case was filed in the High Court in 2014.While Newsday’s up-to-date value remains shrouded, there was a valuation done a decade ago which put its worth at over $200 million dollars. Sources close to Mr Chookolingo says this is a bogus value which was given by the Steve Castagne controlled board to buy out minority shareholders to gain full control of his company.

As newly appointed editor of TT Justice Foundation just when my day was winding down, the most amazing thing happened. A phone call was about to turn my life upside down.
I immediately recognized the voice on the other end as Daniel Chookolingo, the founder of Newsday.

Daniel: Hi David, I thought it was time I introduced myself to you properly.
David: Hello my good man, it’s good to hear from you.
To what do I owe this special phone call?
Daniel: Well, firstly let me say thanks for continuing a job that was missed up to until the 1980s. That was when Choko, my father, passed. He made sure that if the story had a god source and had been verified he was duty bound to publish it no matter the costs. As he always put it, let the chips fall where they may.
David: So, tell me what’s the big news then?
Daniel: Well, TTJF did some brilliant work so far but the mess is about to hit the proverbial fan.
Recently, the crooks that have been trying to silence me since they ripped me off of Newsday, a case still pending appeal, I have been defending renewed attacks inspired by master criminal, Steve Castagne, in a new court matter. This once was filed by his crooked henchman, attorney Michael Coppin and a few others who I will name shortly. You know Steve Castagne is T&T’s most feared man of all times! He has the police and their spying equipment called Pegasus under his personal control. He knows when the PM goes for his secret prostate exams even though Dr Rowley is his real buddy. He knows everything about all MPs from both sides so he can control them and I’m 100% sure he was behind the recent 5 UNC dissidents. Apparently, these people don’t know that Pegasus can use your phone to see, hear and record you even when it’s in dormant mode … Pegasus is an extremely powerful spy tool. That’s why, when Special Counsel Robert Mueller was investigating Trump for Russian connections in the US; he demanded even his own team must leave their phones in a basket outside. Because of AI, the technology has gotten much more powerful since 2017. I know for a fact that people at my very small office have been paid off and threatened since I discovered the assistant manager entered locked offices and removed documents early in the morning when no one else was there. And as coincidences go, on one occasion the CCTV evidence showed him opening the office but the CCTV recording suddenly went blank or was deleted. This office manager admitted that someone had to wipe that part and this could only be done through the computer app which controls the recording. As I found out, AI programs can easily infiltrate and delete whatever recording the crooked hackers and perpetrators want. As was revealed, Pegasus is no longer operated by 2 agencies as originally set up; the police and the army.
So, besides the police the other major force in the country who can now infiltrate anybody once you have their phone number, the other major authority who is at his beck and call is the judiciary. As I just mentioned, his goons filed an action against me for trespass against a Maraval property I was legally occupying. This property was part of my father’s estate and also left in my control by my deceased sister, Francesca who was the beneficiary. He got my estranged sister, Dawn Ford and his equally crazy attorney, Michael Coppin, to file it. But, their ground for suing was that the property is in my mother’s name but was named simply as a trustee. Dawn Ford produced a bogus Will by a thumb print while she lay on her deathbed for over a year, after her doctors pronounced her mentally incompetent. Well, Dawn has been sitting on probate process for over 6 years without informing the probate division of any update while she refused calls by her siblings for information so they could challenge the Will. These delaying moves are well known by all attorneys like her lawyer, Ms Gopeesingh, when they want to help their clients rob people. Some of her siblings know she has been using income from the 4 properties and now also know she failed to disclose any of it when she filed her infamous trespass action against me. In the meanwhile she has been on an overseas spree and was only recently challenged by the same Francesca. Checks at the probate reveal no action was taken with the estate since 2019. But this is irrelevant since the property belongs to my father who I am the sole executor; my sister Francesca is the stated beneficiary and left me as her executor. So, her claim is dubious and tenuous at best. What happened next is the complicit Judge, Justice Nadia Kangaloo, sister-in-law of the PNM President Christine Kangaloo, granted an Order to injunct me from entering the property. How sick is that?
David: That sounds like justice in reverse!
Daniel: Well. that case was filed was in May 2024 after a rushed and faulty hearing without serving documents on me, which is also illegal. Justice Kangaloo promised to review the injunction when I challenged it on the ground the case is a total nullity for over 18 reasons. The first 5 would normally throw the case out but Kangaloo, compromised as she is, decided that she will not hear the case and has made 3 adjournments so far. The day before the hearing she sends emails adjourning it. The main reason for the adjournments is patently obvious since the names of the international firm of auditors, PKF, attorneys Deborah Peake, Michael Quamina and Michael Coppin are shown to be complicit in major crimes against the entire family and the State by not paying their taxes. Simply put they all broke their code of ethics to put the assets in the hands of Steve Castagne. In this latest Kangaloo case, when I got blasted ticked off, I filed a complaint to the JLSC against her. The JLSC is commonly known to be led by the worst CJ this country ever had bar none. When the talk about his gay endeavors was made public by his boyfriend he sued the Law Association (LATT) for taking sides and he sued the LATT for getting involved and dismissed by the Privy Council. Besides, the PM is the backstop since he never responded to LATT anyway.

David: You mean the top lawyers in T&T who like to brag about their abilities didn’t know how to get the PM to respond?
Daniel: Who are you taking about? Peake, Ramesh, Mendez? All these big SCs get mega money from the same government. They are made instant millionaires for each and every case they handle for the State. That’s why the government refuses to answer when the couple of activists in T&T sue for disclosure of legal fees and why the Procurement legislation was gutted so the government does have to show how much they pay lawyers for many cases. It is clear that many of these cases are given to complicit lawyers just to pay them millions in taxpayers’ dollars.
David: Sorry about that dumb question… T&T lawyers are famous for looking after their friends and their bank accounts. How many millions did Ramesh get for his minor work on the COE while the 4 families never got a cent?
Daniel: All lawyers who take State jobs are part of the problem. Like all the senior ones at the DPP, the solicitor general, the ombudsman and all the rest. Dana may have been an exception and had to die. She was working on cases with the help of her sister, Susan Francoise, head of the FIU, when she was killed. Her sister immediately went silent and after her death only small fry drug dealers were exposed by Susan. The real drug and gun importers and exporters like Dr. Sabga, Aboud, Sabga-Aboud, Hadeed, Carlos ‘Fast Boat’ Sabga, Chin Lee and many others who are well known, outright supporters of the PNM, and are the same ones who pledge allegiance and finances to PM Rowley in his first election campaign, to which he brags about openly. Former PNM Minister Karen Nunez-Tesheira didn’t call names but she was referring to them when she broke her silence about the big drug dealers discovered by PM Manning as head of the National Security Council. People like DOMA head, Gregory Aboud who said the top businessmen can do no wrong is himself one of the top PNM supporters who is known to have a drug past before their business became an overnight billion dollar business. Like Sabga beer business, the Aboud business is also into exports. You will remember that in the eighties their drug supplier burned down their houses in Canada and T&T on the very same night because their father wanted out of the drug ‘business’. The drug suppliers would have none of that and more recently they dealt with Dr Koury by chopping off his head as a lesson. Why do you think Chin Lee developed the private port known as Pier One? What’s the connection with the $800 million dollar drug bust and the law firm of Fitzwilliam? Karen knows!
PM Manning wasn’t the only one who knew the names of the importers / exporters since he was informed by the National Security personnel, who are the top heads of all the agencies. Since then, the Pegasus spy equipment was hijacked and used to compromise all the heads at the various law enforcement agencies and Gary Griffith knew and thought that this gave him special rights. Well, PM Rowley showed him the entire system was now controlled by the mighty PNM …which must prevail and his ‘knowledge’ could not be used publicly because he had venerable family too. Gary does not talk about those things anymore since most of his big clients are Syrian businesses who, as the Pizza Boys owner said on CNN, the 1% now controls T&T. Since then, the Syrian mafia then set some new guidelines for all involved in their unsavory activities. Many people know that Pizza Boys was a key member of the cartel for a long time since drugs was found in Pizza deliveries. Trinis have a very short memory about previous findings but I don’t patronize any of them anymore.
David: Well, it’s been long known, since after Manning, that the PNM ministers are carefully hand-picked by the big drug czars to hide their illegalities and to a lesser extent the same applies to the opposition. The drug czars have made sure that it doesn’t matter who is in power and that was obvious by the lame UNC campaign from them in 2020. They were guided by the drug czars’ insiders who infiltrated the UNC party to make sure they lost the 2020 election campaign.
Daniel: Well, I’m here to tell you that after the police whose top executives are paid and threatened to look the other way to major crimes, the judiciary is now working hand-in-hand with the known criminals with the permission of the CJ. So far I have all but exposed Justice Aboud, the CJ and now they have assigned Justice Kangaloo after me.

Justice Aboud was the first Judge who dirtied his judicial hands to get me. He broke all legal rules when he heard my legal case against Steve Castagne in court for theft and malfeasance of Newsday that I created and made the number one daily.
David: Yes, we know about that. Newsday even admits you are the founder in their publications but Castagne denies it in private. He is the master two tongue imposter.
Daniel: Well, Justice Aboud, brother of Gregory, admitted he went to a family meeting and blabbed the entire case. This is un-judicial conduct and the only judge who would stand up to him was Appeal Court Judge Andre Des Vignes. After Des Vignes ‘slip’ he was forced to resign and they said he died a broken man, made so by people who wanted to cover up Justice Aboud’s openly corrupt behavior. The case to hear the appeal to the misbehavior against Justice Aboud was heard by the CJ himself, the second judge involved in misbehavior.
My attorney who was dealing with Justice Aboud’s breach of the laws, Raj Joseph, was forced to commit his own set of illegal acts by appearing before the CJ. Raj Joseph was himself a former Judge. I now know that the law states that former judges cannot appear before any local court for 7 years after leaving their position. Raj Joseph did not state that but the CJ fully knew it since he personally appointed Raj Joseph as a Judge and therefore the CJ was prima facie guilty of misbehavior in public office. A complaint against the CJ was made to the lawful authority, according to the Constitution, the PM. The complicit head of State who was put in office by the very same people who financed his successful bid to become PM, by his own admission, acknowledged my complaint in 2022 but has since refused to address the complaint.
Now the third judge, Justice Nadia Kangaloo, has issued an injunction to prevent me from entering a property under my legal control in my capacities as executor of the owner and also executor of the beneficiary. Ten months has passed since the bogus injunction and she refused to hear that the case is a nullity to have it dismissed for over 18 reasons filed in Court. She is complicit Judge number 3. She was reported to the JLSC but that is led by compromised Judge # 2, the CJ.
David: So your goose is cooked?
Daniel: Well, they have my CCTV under their control through the app and phone, and therefore my business is under their control and I’m monitored 24/7 because I refused to accept the corrupt ruling of 3 active judges … who are all doing the bidding of the more corrupt PNM and the most crooked 1%. I’ve heard that Des Vignes was about to spill the beans on the entire judiciary but he ended up with a stroke ... but his family members could help with the details on that.
The PNM and 1% are well known for how they seek to control the entire country ever since … but those earlier days things were simpler and there was no full control of the entire State machinery, the police, judiciary, the ministries, and now even the press thanks to the theft of Newsday with permission of the judiciary. Thank God for the internet.
I don’t know if you remember the story of the WASA fire soon after Dr Rowley won the 2015 election. The story as reported as arson presumably by persons who wanted to destroy evidence. Well, that was a carbon copy of what they did to gain control of the Chookolingo media empire. The then chairman, Wayne Chookolingo who suddenly died of a stroke and his crooked sister, Dawn, managed to get temporary control of the company. Her next move was to tell shareholders that a lot of documents were missing and the audits could not be done because of missing records. Well, that story continues for 10 years with no annual audits until they received a pre-action protocol letter to produce them. Crooked PKF, an international firm suddenly produced the missing audits in 2022 with no mention that any documents were missing which they are bound by law to state in their report. By then, the assets and Newsday shares were literally given away to Mastermind Steve Castagne for $8 million. The same machinations were used in the WASA, Clico, A&V Oil and is now a common PNM strategy. All these machinations were made possible by PKF, supported by a fraudulent affidavit approved by Crooked Peake to help compromised the courts with full knowledge of Michael Quamina. Both Peake and Quamina were employed by Dawn Ford, wife of Ashton Ford of dubious PNM fame, after she replaced her deceased brother, Wayne, mere weeks before a fateful AGM.
Peake and Quamina, both QC’s are the same people who invented Emailgate to remove the UNC from office and steal millions from Clico, Petrotrin, A&V Oil, Newsday, etc, etc, and to tie up the whole mess in court for at least a decade where PNM Judges are in control. During that decade, they found out that they could manipulate the systems potentially forever with the use of Pegasus and the advances in AI to monitor people with a simple voice match or words. Peake got her mega millions by getting all the Government’s cases and Quamina got his appointment at Heritage (formerly Petrotrin) and made his millions. Even the large gangs, now outlawed, are under the control of these marauders with the understanding that the 1% are protected. This has already started to backfire and a couple of the gangs are now installing their own CCTV cameras (in a Tunapuna pilot project) which was competing with Pegasus and will ensure T&T we will soon become like Haiti where the gangs carve up their own territory. Only when it reaches Westmoorings will the 1% then depart, leaving managers to control their local assets like how Calder Hart did. The 1% has already set their sights on Guyana as their next stop to duplicate what was done in T&T with billions of dollars already spent there. All this is happening because the business elites that made their massive wealth peddling drugs to the home market and the 1%t world markets, took over and corrupted the PNM to expand their ‘business’. And yes, Peake QC and Quamina QC are the original instruments of the PNM, the ‘instruments’ of mayhem and evil.
David: So, what about your former attorneys? Did any of them oppose the crookedness?
Daniel: It is more than obvious that they became casualties of the crooked legal system. My last attorney, Mr Kenneth Brown begged me to loan him a vehicle and printer so we won’t have file documents from the ‘inernet café’, after I expressed concern doing that. In any event, he promised to diligently follow my instructions but as soon as I showed him the fraud and contempt by the other side, his true colors revealed themselves and he refused to include them in documents prepared for me to sign and said we will deal with that later. I refused to sign them and dismissed him pronto and he refused to return my car telling me he is still my attorney.
David: I don’t understand? Didn’t he know he was fired?
Daniel: Most certainly! I gathered he was coopted by the crooked duo, Peake and Quamina, to throw my case. Listen, once this duo and their boss, Castagne, are involved, there is no such thing as decency, justice and good governance in this country.
David: I know! In one instance when Peake’s name appeared on this web site, she was suddenly seen in the Express posing with the DPP Gaspard at the Hall of Justice. In a more recent accusation when her name re-appeared she was appointed by the State as Chairman of the SOE tribunal to investigate police actions. Well, that’s like putting the fox to guard the chickens.
Daniel: That’s right. This 1% and their goons keep trying to infiltrate my life for fear of ultimately losing. It’s important to note that all these judges and other public officials are paid by taxpayer dollars to keep the business of the State uncorrupted and to bring justice to aggrieved parties but they are protecting the crookedness and the status quo. And to answer former President Paula-Mae Weekes, that is how we got here.
